The 6th World Halal Summit has officially begun today at Pullman Convention Center in Istanbul, Turkey. The 3-day event will be held from 21st to 23rd December under the theme of: “Halal for All, Halal in All Aspects, from Production to Consumption”.
The event is organized by Discover Events on behalf of the Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT) and the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC).
Topics for the summit include “The role of Accreditation in Halal Market”, “OIC/SMIIC 2:2019 Standard for Halal Certification Bodies”, “OIC/SMIIC 24:2020 General Requirement for Food Additives and Other Added Chemicals to Halal Food”, “Sustainable Halal Ecosystem and the Role of Islamic Finance” and many more.
Speakers for the summit include professionals in the industry such as Dr. Emi Normalina Omar of University Technology Mara (UiTM) Malaysia, Zafer Soylu—Head of Board of Directors of the Halal Accreditation Agency (HAK)/Turkey, Mohamed Jinna—Group Chairman of World Halal Day Singapur and Professor Dr. Irwandi Jaswir—International Islamic University Malaysia.
Organized annually, the World Halal Summit is the World largest Halal event that brings to light the latest developments and updates related to Halal sector, with the participation of international academicians and fiqh experts from all over the globe.
The Summit aims to raise awareness about halal by hosting conferences where halal-related topics in finance, tourism, food, medicine, pharmacy, cosmetics, textile, modest fashion and other sectors are discussed at.
