Cambodia Targets Indonesian Tourists with Green Season and Halal Tourism

Cambodia is actively promoting its Green Season (May to October) to attract Indonesian tourists, highlighting its lush landscapes, cooler weather, and peaceful atmosphere. The country is also enhancing its offerings for Muslim travelers by providing halal food and prayer facilities at major tourist sites.

Phnom Penh, the capital, is becoming a popular spot for Indonesians, offering cultural sites like the Royal Palace, traditional foods such as fish amok, and unique fruits like Kampot durian.

To further attract Muslim visitors, Cambodia is improving its Muslim-friendly services, including halal-certified restaurants and prayer rooms in public places.

A key part of this strategy includes collaboration with Indonesia. The two countries have signed an MoU to jointly promote Angkor Wat and Borobudur—two iconic temples—with shared marketing and tourism initiatives.
