Ms. Siddika Jaffer – Halal Dining Club

Enfoundery and Halal Dining Club, a halal dining app startup designated one of Forbes’ Top 5 Muslim Startups, are both founded by Ms. Siddika Jaffer. She was named one of the Top 500 Global Business Leaders in the Islamic Economy by Islamica 500. She works with BCG Digital Ventures, a company that develops companies from the bottom up and then introduces them to the market.

When Siddika Jaffer was pursuing her master’s degree in innovation in Singapore, she had the idea for The Halal Dining Club. She found that about half of the diners had dietary restrictions. An additional 1.6 billion consumers were united by a shared dietary need: a preference for halal cuisine.

The Halal Dining Club, which brings together restaurant owners and Muslims, has the potential to completely transform the halal food industry, according to Siddika, a former business consultant. The founder of the company, Siddika, hopes to expand it worldwide.

With halal dining out markets valued at US$1.2 billion and US$3.7 billion, respectively, the Halal Dining Club app has developed a list of more than 1,600 halal restaurants in Singapore and the United Kingdom.

A significant portion of the Muslim community in both markets “loves dining out,” and many Muslim travelers enter Singapore from Indonesia and Malaysia and the United Kingdom from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations.

According to Ms. Jaffer, diners who follow the halal diet typically take up to ninety minutes to find and reserve a good restaurant. This time is spent visiting many websites, blogs, and reviews, making phone calls to establishments, and contacting friends.

Established in 2015, The Halal Dining Club is a business incubator operated by Singapore Management University. The software is now available for free download from the Apple Software Store. There will be an Android version ready before the end of 2016.

The fact that so many astute business executives and entrepreneurs are laying the groundwork for a better and more promising future for Muslims and non-Muslims alike is indicative of the halal industry’s exponential growth.
